JUVÉDERM® Fillers in Pasadena

As we age, our skin volume can diminish, making us look and feel much older than we are. Many patients struggle with wrinkles, fine lines, scars, creases, and other facial imperfections.

What Is JUVÉDERM®?

JUVÉDERM® is a family of non-surgical fillers that can rejuvenate your face. These dermal fillers are made of a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid that can restore volume to smooth and lift the facial skin and contours.

Is JUVÉDERM® Right for Me?

Anyone who wants to address facial wrinkles, volume loss, and sagging skin is a potential candidate for hyaluronic acid injections.

Dr. O’Toole offers three main types of JUVÉDERM® fillers: JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC, JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE™ XC, and JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA™ XC. Each filler addresses specific areas of the face to help you achieve a more youthful appearance.

What Can These Dermal Fillers Treat?

Sunken or Hollow Facial Contours

As you age, your facial tissues can shrink and lose volume, creating a sunken or hollow appearance. This is especially common in the cheeks and temples.

Dermal fillers add volume to lift and enhance the cheeks and other sunken, sagging areas.

Wrinkles and Fine Lines

Wrinkles and fine lines, such as nasolabial folds and smoker’s lines, form when the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin break down.

These injectable fillers add support to the underlying structures of your skin and help your skin retain moisture. This process smooths out wrinkles, fine lines, and creases.

Thin or Deflated Lips

As we age, the lips can become thin and wrinkled as they lose volume. Other people may have naturally small lips due to genetics.

In either case, JUVÉDERM® lip filler can enhance your pout with plump, smooth, youthful lips.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much is JUVÉDERM®?

Your JUVÉDERM® cost will vary depending on how many vials are needed to treat your specific concerns. The price of JUVÉDERM® will also depend on how many treatment sessions you undergo.

  • How many dermal filler injections will I need?

Some patients are satisfied with their results after a single injectable treatment. However, this will depend on the severity and number of wrinkles or hollows you’d like to address. Dr. O’Toole usually recommends maintaining the results by injections every four to six months.

To maintain your results, he recommends follow-up treatments every six to 12 months.

  • What should I avoid after my JUVÉDERM® injections?

After your hyaluronic acid injections, you should avoid rubbing or massaging your injection sites for three to five days. You should also avoid persistent high temperatures such as hot baths or saunas for that same time period. Avoid anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen for at least a week to prevent bruising.

  • How is JUVÉDERM® different from BOTOX® COSMETIC?

This family of fillers consists of hyaluronic acid-based formulas that restore lost volume to smooth wrinkles. BOTOX® Cosmetic works in an entirely different way. It is an injectable neuromodulator that prevents the involuntary movement of muscles that form wrinkles. BOTOX® Cosmetic is most often used to treat wrinkles in the forehead, while dermal fillers are used to treat sunken cheeks, nasolabial folds, and thin lips.

  • Can I combine JUVÉDERM® with another cosmetic treatment?

This dermal filler can be combined with many other cosmetic skin procedures, such as KYBELLA® double chin treatment and laser resurfacing treatment.

  • Is JUVÉDERM® safe?

When injected by a skilled professional like Dr. O’Toole, injectable fillers are very safe. While minor complications are a risk with any treatment, the risk of severe complications is quite low.

Rare JUVÉDERM® side effects and complications may include one or more of the following:

    • Infection
    • Skin discoloration around the injection site
    • Pain or tingling caused by minor nerve damage

Testimonials

“Dr. O’Toole and his staff are amazingly warm and comforting. I felt comfortable asking as many questions as I wanted and left feeling completely confident in my plastic surgery treatment. Dr. O’Toole was my breast implant surgeon and after 20 years, I wouldn’t go to anyone else for future body beautification needs. In fact, I love his work so much, that I have referred my mom and she has happily booked her appointment already. He is truly the best plastic surgeon! Love you all!”
