The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has launched an ad campaign focused on the importance of board certification. According the ASPS, this campaign is in response to the “encroachment into the specialty by corporate cosmetic surgery franchises and non-plastic surgeons.” There are, of course, a number of such individuals and organizations offering procedures such as breast enhancement, liposuction, and tummy tuck surgery throughout Los Angeles.

It is important to remember that anyone with a medical degree can call himself a “cosmetic surgeon” and perform aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. Only someone who has undergone additional training and residencies, and met the demanding requirements of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) can call himself a plastic surgeon.

Los Angeles plastic surgeon Dr. Martin O’Toole is both a member of the ASPS and board-certified by the ABPS. For over 25 years, Dr. O’Toole has been helping men and women in our area reach their aesthetic goals with individual attention and personalized treatments. He would be happy to meet with you for a free consultation to discuss your desires, answer your questions, and help you determine which treatments are best for your needs.
