The economy has finally shed some attention on plastic surgery and unqualified doctors performing surgical procedures. According to the Los Angeles Times the woman who is being highlighted in the new American Society of Plastic Surgeons campaign against unqualified doctors performing plastic surgery, is from California. Unfortunately, she suffered a horrible blow when she awoke to find that she had what the media called, a “uniboob” which meant that both breast implants shared the same pocket.  She also discovered that her doctor took it upon himself to revise a scar under her eye , leaving her unable to close her eye.  This doctor was not ASPS board-certified and unqualified  according to many medical experts, to perform either procedure. Dr. O’Toole, uses every consultation to educate patients about the importance of choosing  an ASPS board-certified plastic surgeon.  It is never just about price.  Patients should consider the damages when things do not go according to plan.  Procedures like breast augmentation because of their popularity, have caused patients to believe that any doctor can perform the procedure well.  This is not the case at all. Most women have some sort of asymmetry with their breast and a cookie-cutter surgery could yield unsatisfactory results.  The same applies to liposuction and every other plastic surgery procedure.  Dr. O’Toole offers both traditional liposuction as well as Smartlipo and patients should understand that the results of the procedure are heavily reliant upon his skill and expertise.
