A new law signed by the governor is designed to protect patients who are having surgery in outpatient surgery centers. The new law will require that the surgery centers are inspected regularly and are subject to surprise visits. ”It brings oversight that’s long overdue over these clinics,” Price said Sunday after the governor signed the law. Sen. Curren Price Jr. (D-Los Angeles), says ”It’s going to protect the public’s health and safety.” Dr O’Toolemakes an effort to explain to his patients the value of choosing an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon to perform their outpatient plastic surgery. The society holds its’ members to a high standard which includes performing surgery that requires anesthesia in an accredited facility. It has become easier for patients over the years to “shop” for plastic surgery, especially popular procedures likebreast augmentation and liposuction . Dr O’ Toole performs both traditional liposuction as well as Smart Lipo. Smart Lipo is performed in Dr. O’Toole’s in-office surgical suite. Patients are not under anesthesia and the safety and comfort of the patient are never compromised. For larger volume and more difficult cases, Dr O’Toole will recommend traditional liposuction and perform the procedure in the surgery center. Breast augmentation is performed by Dr O’Toole in a fully accredited surgical facility.
