Pregnancy, aging, gravity, exercise and diet all play a part in the appearance of your buttocks. Engaging in a strict exercise regimen, such as consistent sets of squats, does not always provide a desirable firm look and/or feel. If you find yourself not receiving the results you long for, buttock lift surgery may be right for you. Those who have loose, hanging skin on the buttocks and on the back of the upper thighs can benefit from this shaping procedure. With extensive experience in body contouring, I offer buttock lift at my practice, Pasadena Cosmetic Surgery.

Butt lift surgery “lifts” and tightens the skin of the buttocks by removing excess skin and repositioning the surrounding tissue (not to be confused with the “Brazilian Butt Lift,” which augments the buttocks using the patient’s own fat or implants). The purpose of butt lift surgery is to create a perkier, more flattering backside. This procedure does not remove fat deposits, as it is solely focused on tightening the skin. So if you are considering a butt lift, you should already be at your ideal weight.

Prior to surgery, I will determine where your incisions should be made, depending on your preferences and the location of your excess skin and fat. During buttock lift surgery, an anesthesiologist will administer an anesthetic so you will feel no pain during the procedure. Once the incisions are made, I will surgically remove the excess skin and pull the remaining skin to a more contoured position. I will close the incisions with sutures and apply bandages and, if necessary, small tubes to drain blood or fluid. Butt lift surgery is done on an outpatient basis.

As time progresses, aging may naturally cause the buttocks to experience a loss of firmness and weight fluctuations can cause a loss of skin elasticity; however, the results of buttock lift surgery offer natural-looking, long-lasting results. Incisions will be placed in the most inconspicuous areas as possible, and although permanent, scars will improve and fade over time.

At my practice, Pasadena Cosmetic Surgery, I often perform buttock lift surgery in conjunction with other body reshaping surgeries, such as a breast lift, tummy tuck, arm lift, or liposuction. I look forward to meeting with you.
