Fitness trends and styles are always hot in LA. The recent trade show for fitness showed the overwhelming favorite to be dance for fitness. Some patients tell Dr. O’Toole that while they are in great physical shape they remain unhappy about the size and shape of their breasts. Often, if the breast are disproportionately small in comparison to the rest of the body it can be difficult to find clothing that is desirable and trendy. Some patients are afraid of breast augmentation because they believe they will be too big and no longer have an athletic figure. Dr. O’Toole assures his patients that they will decide together which breast implant size is best for them. In most cases, even if a breast lift is needed patients can return to fitness activities in 4 to 6 weeks. According to ABC IDEA World Fitness is the largest convention held for fitness professionals. This year the event was held at the L.A. Convention Center, where more than 5,000 came to sweat and shop.
Two obvious trends are ethnic dance and suspension training. First it was Zumba, then Bokwa and now Timba — sassy ways to sweat while working out.
“When you see the companies that are strong in the fitness industry, they always are seeing the future, and the future is suspension training and rip training,” said Peter Holman, director of product development for TRX.
